After “The Crown Season 4” swept the Emmys last weekend, Netflix announced that “The Crown Season 5” will premiere in November 2022.
On this Saturday’s “TUDUM”, actor Imelda Staunton (“Harry Potter”) announced the news.
Imelda Staunton is also the next actor of Queen Elizabeth II in the play.
“The Crown” was created by Peter Morgan and others. It tells the story of the British royal family and society since Elizabeth II came to the throne in 1952.

In the first two seasons, the queen was played by Claire Foy.
In the third and fourth seasons, this role was replaced by Oscar and Emmy winner Olivia Colman.
“The Crown” will re-select actors every two seasons to reflect the age change of the role.
“The Crown Season 5” will tell about the most turbulent years of the royal family’s experience, the 1990s.
Imelda said at the TUDUM event: “I will do my utmost to maintain the very high standard that they set.”
