Paul Thomas Anderson, who was nominated for the Oscar for Best Picture with “There Will Be Blood” and “Phantom Thread”, has launched another masterpiece. The love comedy Licorice Pizza directed by him was lifted from word of mouth.
“Licorice Pizza”‘s rotten tomatoes are maintained at 100% freshness, with a MetaCritic overall score of 95/100 (12 reviews).
In an earlier interview with “Variety”, Paul Thomas Anderson said that “Licorice Pizza” was influenced by the youth films “American Graffiti” and “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” from the 1970s to 1980s.
