Although Thanos has long appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Thanos, played by Josh Brolin, officially debuted in “Guardians of the Galaxy”.
The next appearance was in “Avengers: Age of Ultron”, where Joe Thanos took out his Infinity Gloves and said, “I’ll do it myself.”
This Easter egg is clearly paving the way for “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame,” though that may not have been the original plan for the movie.

In a recent interview with Collider, Josh Brolin was asked which films he’s been in have had major changes in post-production.
Among the movies Josh Brolin mentioned was “Avengers: Age of Ultron”, “Wow, that’s a good question. “Jonah Hex”, it just got worse.”
“Anything else? “No Country for Old Men” No. I remember when we were filming, I saw those routines, and what we ended up with was about the same as what I saw. Is there anything else?”
“Probably ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’… I was amazed by what they did. I thought the effect was obvious, but it was also surprising.”
I’m really curious what the original “Avengers: Age of Ultron” looked like? Wouldn’t the movie be rated a little better than it is now if there were no major changes?
