The Cronenberg-style horror style is returning – the famous director David Cronenberg’s first new film “Crimes of the Future” in nearly ten years has been set.
The film, released by NEON, will first appear in the main competition unit of the Cannes Film Festival in May. Starring Viggo Mortensen, Léa Seydoux, Kristen Stewart and more.
The story delves into the not-so-distant future where humans are learning to adapt to their synthetic environment, an evolution that takes humans beyond their natural state and begins to morph, changing their biological makeup.
Some embrace the infinite potential of transhumanism, while others try to rein in it. Either way, the “accelerated evolution syndrome” is spreading rapidly.

Saul Tenser, a beloved performance artist, has undergone accelerated evolution syndrome, and unexpected new organs have grown in his body.
Together, Tenser and his partner, Caprice, turned the process of removing these organs into a spectacle—operating in real-time in theaters to wow its loyalists.
But with government and strange subcultures both concerned, Tenser is forced to consider what will be his most shocking performance yet.
