Mark Rich was the most controversial international businessman of the 20th century, a survivor of the Nazi Holocaust and has since become the richest and most powerful oil and commodities trader of the 20th century.

He was indicted in 1983 on 65 criminal charges, including tax evasion, and was one of the ten most wanted men wanted by the U.S. Department of Justice for 17 years, and was pardoned by President Clinton on his last day in office in 2001.

The book details Rich’s illicit dealings with Iran during the hostage crisis, as well as his covert cooperation with the governments of Cuba, Israel and the United States.

The founder of Glencore, the world’s largest commodities trader, Rich never faced a judge or jury, was in Switzerland when he was charged with criminal charges, and lived abroad until his death in 2013 at the age of 78.

Currently, two female screenwriters, Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse, are writing the script.

The project was launched in 2018, when Matt Damon was considered for the role. However, after four years, it is not known whether Damon will play.
