Marvel’s new drama “Echo” has exposed stills for the first time, and the series will be launched on Disney+ next year.
Alaqua Cox, who has appeared on “Hawkeye,” plays “Echo” as her New York cruelty reverberates back home, forcing her to confront her past.
If she hopes to move on, she will have to reconnect with her Native American roots and embrace what it means to be home and community.
Also starring “Echo” Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, Cody Lightning, Graham Greene, Zahn McClarnon, Sydney Freeland (“ancy Drew” “Tales of the City”) and Catriona McDailey Ken Daileyzie (“Supernatural”” Harrow”), which is already filming in Atlanta.
“Echo”, formerly known as Maya Lopez, is a deaf Native American who can perfectly imitate someone else’s moves or fights, making her a formidable opponent.
In the comics, Maya Lopez’s father was killed by Kingpin when she was 9 years old. The latter raised her and used lies to convince her that the murderer who really killed her father was Daredevil.
Maya Lopez was sent by Kingpin to meet Matt Murdock, and the two fell in love without knowing he was Daredevil, during which she took the alias “Echo”, a costume that featured a white handprint on her face, in memory of her father’s death before her death. Touched her face with her hand.
