Thanks to the netizens’ frenzy to play meme, Sony announced the re-release of the word-of-mouth box office flop “Morbius” in more than 1,000 theaters.
But the netizens obviously do not want to be the victims, the film’s re-release box office is very unsatisfactory.
The digital version of “Morbius,” which has been “on fire” since its launch due to its crazy antics, was recently re-released in 1,000 theaters, but only collected a dismal $85,000 on Friday, an average of $82 per theater.
The superhero film “Morbius” was previously criticized by audiences and critics as a super bad movie, with an average score of 36 on M, and a Rotten Tomatoes freshness of only 17%.
“Morbius” box office is also not satisfactory, so far Northern America grossed $73.32 million, the global total box office of $163 million.
“Morbius” is based on Marvel Comics. The film is directed by Daniel Espinosa and stars Jared Leto, Adria Arjona, Matt Smith and Jared Harris.
The film features Morbius, a “pseudo-vampire” from Marvel Comics, who gains super strength, speed, perception and the ability to fly due to a mutation.
