Before the galaxy dance team continues their adventure in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3“, they will first appear in “The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special“.
Director James Gunn and a host of leading actors, including Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan, Dave Bautista, etc. will return.
However, it is unknown whether Zoe Saldana will appear in “The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special“.
James Gunn previously accepted an interview with Collider, saying that before watching “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3”, fans need to watch “The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special” first.

The director also revealed that “The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special” and “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” were shot at the same time.
“I will shoot this short film while shooting the movie. I will use a lot of the same set, and of course the same actors. We will shoot the short film together while making the film, but the short film must be edited as soon as possible.”

At the end of the interview, James Gunn confirmed that the duration of “The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special” is less than 40 minutes.
“The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special” is expected to land on Disney+ in 2022, and “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” is scheduled to be released in North America on May 5, 2023.
