In the ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ movie, Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster was “picked up”. Natalie Portman, who is back in the movie, revealed that she found that the scenes in the movie were cut by Marvel, much more than expected.
“Thor: Love and Thunder”, the film, is Taika Waititi in Marvel director’s second film. In this film, the director continues his hilarious style.
Because of his charisma, many actors from the ‘Thor’ series, joined the film. Among them, it includes Natalie Portman.
In this movie, Jane Foster can be taken really seriously. She plays a big role in the movie.
When it comes to comic book movies, many scenes are cut in the post review. However, when talking about ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’, Portman was surprised to say that she didn’t expect some of the film’s very exciting scenes to be cut.
So, what shots did Marvel cut?
In an interview with Indie Wire, Natalie Portman revealed that a large amount of footage that didn’t make it into the final version of the film.
Part of the reason for this is that the director chose to shoot multiple scenes for each scene and made sure that each one was consistent, which led to many different versions of the film.
Moreover, the director encouraged exploration, which is why, throughout the shooting process, there were some improvised scenes that were also cut.
In addition to that, Portman said that the touching scenes between Jane Foster and Thor. was also brutally watched. As well as, the interaction scene between Jane and Valkyria.
In response, Natalie Portman said, “A lot of the plot is missing, the planets, the characters and the world, some of the funny and magical scenes. We put a lot of time and effort into it. The whole team was also designing and conceptualizing. It’s amazing that there wasn’t so much great material in the movie. Consider all, we originally had so much material. Usually, you just want to include enough good stuff in a movie, but in this movie, it was redundant. So, it was really surprising. Not to be dramatic, but there are some very touching scenes. The interesting thing is that we had enough space to work on them. We shot 20 different versions of a key scene. There were also a couple of key emotional scenes that we did a lot of different things in the limited time we had.”
It is worth mentioning that for a movie like Marvel, Marvel is very conscious of the pace of the movie. Not to mention, ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ the movie has a huge number of characters.

So, I also understand why Marvel deleted some very romantic scenes.
Portman also mentioned Jane and Valkyria’s cut scenes, and the actress believes that the material they were cut from could have been used for their spin-off show.
I think that while the ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ movie didn’t have enough time to explore their friendship, it might have been particularly interesting to have a movie that explored their relationship.
