Pedro Pascal and David Harbour will star and executive produce HBO’s new limited series “My Dentist’s Murder Trial” (My Dentist’s Murder Trial).
It is based on “My Dentist’s Murder Trial: Adultery, False Identities, and a Lethal Sedation” by James Lasdun in “The New Yorker”.
It tells the true story of James Lasdun’s longtime family dentist, Dr. Gilberto Nunez, who was accused of killing his friend Thomas Kolman.
Nunez was charged with having Kolman “ingest the substance that caused his death” and two counts of forgery, including impersonating a CIA agent, in addition to having an affair with Kolman’s wife, Linda.
Nunez was tried in 2018 and found not guilty of murder, but guilty of fraud charges for which he was jailed.
Steve Conrad (‘Wonder,’ ‘The Secret Life of Walter Mitty,’ ‘The Pursuit of Happyness’) wrote, executive produced and directed the first episode.
Pascal will play Nunez, and it’s unclear whether Harbour will play Kolman or article writer Lasdun.
