The game adaptation of the movie ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3’ is officially scheduled for release on December 20, 2024 Northern America, the return of the fast-running blue hedgehog.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2′ premiered on March 30 this year and has earned more than $400 million at the global box office, including $190.6 million at the U.S. domestic box office and $209.5 million overseas.
The film’s box office results currently rank eighth worldwide in 2022, and considering its recent release in Japan, the ranking is likely to improve further.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2′ is also currently the fifth highest grossing game adaptation of all time. The highest-grossing game adaptation at the global box office is ‘Warcraft’, with a worldwide box office of $429 million.
Back in February, SEGA and Paramount announced that a third ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ animated movie and a live-action ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ episode are currently in production.
