Renowned stop-motion animation studio LAIKA reveals the lavish voice cast of its new stop-motion feature film ‘Wildwood’, once again embarking on a fantastical and mysterious fairy tale adventure: Carey Mulligan, Mahershala Ali, Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Jacob Tremblay The film will be released with concept art by Carey Mulligan, Mahershala Ali, Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Jacob Tremblay, Awkwafina, Angela Bassett, Jake M. Johnson, Charlie Day, Amandla Stenberg, Jemaine Clement, Maya Erskine, Tantoo Cardinal, Tom Waits, Richard E. Grant, and released concept art.
‘Wildwood’ has previously announced some information: it will be directed by LAIKA’s President and CEO Travis Knight (‘Kubo and the Two Strings’ ‘Bumblebee’), still in stop-motion animation + CG, adapted from Colin Meloy’s children’s fantasy novel of the same name, with Chris Butler (‘Missing Link’) as the screenwriter.
The story focuses on a magical world outside of Portland called Wildwood, about a girl, Prue’s brother Mac, who is kidnapped by a flock of crows and taken deep into the woods.
Prue goes with her unlucky classmate Curtis to bring him back, thus stepping into a mysterious place where no one has ever ventured before.
Prue finds herself at the center of a fairy tale, encountering strange talking animals, rogue bandits and powerful characters with dark intentions.
