Ben Kingsley and Ezra Miller star in the biopic ‘Dalíland’ , which features the surrealist painting master Salvador Dalí in stills, with Ezra Miller and Ben Kingsley playing younger and middle-aged versions of him.
Directed by Mary Harron (‘American Psycho’), ‘Dalíland’ focuses on Salvador Dalí’s unusual marriage to his wife and muse, the domineering Gala.
Barbara Sukowa stars as Gala, Andreja Pejic as Salvador Dalí’s intimate partner Amanda Lear, Christopher Briney (‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’) as the young painting fan James, Suki Waterhouse plays Ginesta, the matriarch of Salvador Dalí’s social circle.
The story is set in 1973 from James’ point of view, when he is a gallery assistant helping Salvador Dalí prepare for a major exhibition of his paintings.
The young man had hoped to learn some of the secrets of art from the painting’s great master, but he has since fallen down a rabbit hole of glamorous parties, personal struggles, money and intrigue in the art world.
