After the death of “Black Panther” character Chadwick Boseman, the script for Black Panther was rewritten and the upcoming “Black Panther : Wakanda Forever” will focus on The Avengers’ endgame.
In an interview with the media, ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ director and writer Ryan Coogler said that although the plot changed after Boseman’s death, the original plot of the ‘Black Panther’ sequel was also the subject of sadness, as it would have told the story of the half of life that was eliminated with The Avengers’ battle, the story of the half of life eliminated by Thanos Infinity Stones.
While the movie, which opens next week, is about mourning the character of Black Panther, the original script was about mourning the five years he lost between his death in Infinity War and his resurrection in the Endgame.
“The emotions will be very similar,” Coogler told the press. “The character will grieve the loss of time, you know, coming back after five years away, and as someone who has a huge responsibility to so many people, being forced to come back after five years of absence, that’s what this movie is going to address.”
After Boseman’s death, Coogler, along with co-writer Joe Robert Cole, reworked the film, placing other characters in the lead roles.
“Who the main character is, the main character’s flaws, the things the main character deals with in their journey, all of that changed because we lost him but we decided to move forward with the film,” Coogler said.
‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ will be released in Northern America on November 11.
