The debate about Marvel movies continues.
Recently, “Dune” director Denis Villeneuve said in an interview with the media that “too many Marvel movies are just copying and pasting of other movies.”
This remark caused controversy. Neill Blomkamp, the director of “District Nine”, commented when he reposted the news on Twitter: “What a jerk!”

For Marvel movies, Denis Villeneuve also added: “These movies will not bring too many new things, because they are too programmatic and routine.”
Regarding Neill Blomkamp’s reaction, some netizens thought he was too rude.
However, some netizens feel that Denis Villeneuve spouts trash talk on Marvel’s works in order to promote the new film, and ignores the filmmakers who have made efforts for Marvel movies. It does look like a “jerk”.
