J. K. Rowling ‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’ 25th anniversary of publication, for which the Royal Mint will launch a series of Harry Potter-themed commemorative coins.
The first coin design has now been revealed: a 50p coin with Harry Potter’s head, featuring the face of the boy wizard on one side, and a tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II and the new King Charles III on the other.
The Royal Mint said, “Demand for the series is expected to be high as it is one of the few series of coins that will see portrait variations.”
The four variants of the 50p coin go on sale on the Royal Mint website from 9am on October 20, starting at £11, while a gold coin can cost up to £1,195.
There is even a 50p color version available for £20.
Other coins in the series will feature the Hogwarts Express, Professor Albus Dumbledore and Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
It is reported that the most expensive set of commemorative coins will be worth six thousand euros, and the subsequent series will meet with the public one after another .
