‘The Passenger’ Review: A Gore-Enough, Weird Movie

“The Passenger” is a grotesque and disturbing Spanish horror film that delivers a jumping thriller but falls short of telling a story.

“The Passenger” has a very quirky setting that’s fascinating. A group of people driving down an empty road late at night when they accidentally bump into a lone hiker quickly realize that stopping to help her was a very bad decision.

In this 90-minute film, we see a lot of scary scenes and weird-looking “monsters.”

Sure to be fun for those who like the genre, ignore the lack of the story itself. In other words, the last scene seen in this movie is the real genius.

The opening of the film is enough to captivate any viewer as it sets up perfectly what comes next, it immediately oozes eerie vibes and tells us to never stop on a dark, dreary night to help someone you don’t know .

In all seriousness, audiences will definitely be yelling at the bad decisions these characters make, but audiences will still find it funny to do so.

Loud noises and sudden movements break up tense quiet moments, leading to some epic jump-scare moments, and the makeup and styling in the film should also be applauded.

As a huge horror movie fan, I’m a big fan of “The Passenger”. While no spoilers, there is a moment involving the tongue.

Without a doubt, this is my favorite scene from the movie, and those are the things that make this movie great. But when it comes to storytelling, unfortunately, that’s the problem with it.

The overall premise is interesting, but it’s a premise that’s been featured in many horror movies.

Don’t get me wrong, it does need to bring something unique, like having enough gory, ugly monsters to appeal to most audiences — especially those who like these kinds of movies.

Still, “The Passenger” is an entertaining horror movie that’s sure to keep viewers on the edge of their seats, hiding behind pillows, blankets, or whatever they can find.

There are some humorous moments in the film that help break the tension. But overall, the story doesn’t have much to offer, but enough to entertain the audience.
