Miguel Sapochnik, co-producer of ‘House of the Dragon’, said in an interview with ‘Empire’ that ‘House of the Dragon’ Season 1 will start on August 21, and that nine of the show’s 17 dragons will glide, swoop and soar across the screen. They will be an eclectic group, as each dragon has its own personality.
“Each new dragon has its own personality. That’s what we’re doing now – we’re applying each dragon’s personality traits to them,” Sapochnik explains. “One of them has a broken leg. Another one is more like a hawk because she’s a little bit neurotic. And then there’s the one that looks like a bad-tempered grandmother.”
Sapochnik also spoke about the challenges the team faced in bringing these dragons to life. One of the biggest hurdles, he said, was trying to get rid of the iconic dragon look.
The show focuses on the story of House of Targaryen, which will involve its famous bloody civil war ‘Danceof the Dragons’, back in time more than 200 years ago.
‘House of the Dragon’ adapted from George Raymond Richard Martin’s book ‘Fire & Blood’, Martin and Ryan Condal co-developed, Season 110 episodes, directors include multiple episodes of ‘Game of Thrones’ such as Battle of the Bastards’ ‘The Winds of Winter’ director Miguel Sapochnik and others.
The drama will start on August 22nd, so stay tuned.
