After “Uncharted”, there are 10 more movies based games to look forward to!

Although “Uncharted”, which is currently being shown around the world, has a poor reputation and poor box office, it has fulfilled the long-cherished wish of fans for many years.

The film has been in the works since 2008, when both Chris Pratt and Nathan Fillion were considered for the role of Nathan Drake.

Pratt declined the offer, and Fillion starred in an “Uncharted” fan short film in 2018, which received critical acclaim.

The director of “Uncharted” has changed several times over the years, including “Silver Linings Playbook‎” director David O. Russell and “Free Guy” director Shawn Levy.

It was finalized by “Zombieland” director Ruben Fleischer, with Tom Holland as Nathan Drake, Mark Wahlberg as Victor Sullivan, and Antonio Banderas as Moncada.

Affected by the epidemic, after the production of the film was completed, it was not finally released until February this year.

After “Uncharted”, there are a number of game adaptation films and TV series to meet you this year, and of course a large number of new game adaptation projects are also in development.

Although many of these projects do not yet have a clear release date, as long as the production progresses smoothly and is not seriously hindered by the epidemic or other external forces, I believe that these games will soon hit the big screen.

“Sonic the Hedgehog 2” (Release date: April 8, 2022)

While the pandemic has slowed production on many movies, “Sonic the Hedgehog 2,” which is set to hit theaters in April, doesn’t seem to be affected — the sequel is only two years away from the first film.

From what the trailer suggests, “Sonic the Hedgehog 2” will explain many of the mysteries left over from the first movie, such as the background of the hedgehog race.

Idris Elba will voice Knuckles, and “Parks and Recreation” actor Ben Schwartz will continue to voice Sonic.

Other returning cast members include James Marsden, Sheriff Tom Wachowski, who plays Sonic’s human friend, and Jim Carrey, who plays Dr. Ivo Robotnik.

There’s a lot to look forward to in the movie, including Colleen O’Shaughnessey’s likely to go on to voice her game character Tails in the film.

This will make her the voice actor for the first crossover movie in the series.

“Super Mario Bros.: The Movie‎” (Release date: December 21, 2022)

The yet-to-be-untitled Super Mario movie has announced the cast and release date before the title has been confirmed, leaving many unpredictable.

But this move does create a sense of mystery and anticipation for the film itself.

Twenty-nine years after the poorly received “Super Mario Bros.‎” live-action movie, Nintendo has finally teamed up with Illumination Entertainment to produce the upcoming “Super Mario” movie for the Christmas season.

In the animated film, Chris Pratt voices Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy voices Princess Peach, Charlie Day voices Luigi, Jack Black voices Bowser, and Seth Rogen voices Donkey Kong.

While the all-star voice cast has received some criticism, many are still looking forward to the film.

“Borderlands‎”

Although no release date has been announced, “Borderlands‎” is expected to hit theaters within this year.

The film is directed by renowned horror director Eli Roth, who also co-wrote the screenplay with “Chernobyl” screenwriter Craig Mazin.

The announced cast includes Cate Blanchett as Lilith, Kevin Hart as Roland, Jack Black as Claptrap, and Jamie Lee Curtis as Doctor Tannis.

The film has already been completed on June 22, 2021, which means that it should not be far from its official release.

“Metal Gear Solid‎”

Like the “Uncharted” movie, the “Metal Gear Solid‎” movie has been in development since the late 2000s, the game series created by Hideo Kojima 24 years ago.

“Kong: Skull Island‎” director Jordan Vogt-Roberts was first reported to be directing “Metal Gear Solid‎” in 2014.

A big fan of “Metal Gear Solid‎”, Vogt-Roberts finally confirmed that the script was finished in 2019.

“Metal Gear Solid‎” is also one of Oscar Isaac’s many unreleased films, who officially announced in December 2020 that he will play the lead character Solid Snake.

“Tomb Raider 2”

The news of 33409281 Tomb Raider 2 gained quite a bit of attention. Alicia Vikander will reprise her role as Lara Croft in the sequel to the 2018 reboot film “Tomb Raider‎”.

The pandemic has affected the film’s progress, but Vikander confirmed that the sequel still has a chance to meet you, even though the studio hasn’t given the green light yet.

Misha Green, best known for “Lovecraft Country‎” and “Sons of Anarchy,” has taken over from writer Amy Jump, completing the first draft of Tomb Raider 2 on May 14, 2021.

Green has reportedly been in close communication with Vikander about the sequel.

“Ghost of Tsushima‎”

Sony and PlayStation announced in 2021 the adaptation of Twitch’s most popular open-world samurai game “Ghost of Tsushima‎” into a movie.

Chad Stahelski, director of the “John Wick” series, will direct the film, and he promises a lot of bloody action, but the exact cast and release date are unclear.

“Five Nights at Freddy’s”

A movie version of Scott Carson’s horror game “Five Nights at Freddy’s” has been in development since 2015.

But the project didn’t get off the ground until 2017, when Blumhouse got involved.

The following year, “Harry Potter” director Chris Columbus set out to direct, and Blumhouse would have continued the project on schedule.

But the “Five Nights at Freddy’s” movie was reverted to its original form that same year because Carson disagreed with the script being written.

In recent years, Carson and Jason Bloom have been working on adapting “Five Nights at Freddy’s” into a movie.

Finally, a draft script has been agreed upon. Filming is expected to start as soon as this year.

“The Division‎”

Tom Clancy’s spy series The Division‎ will be adapted into a live-action version for Netflix.

Ubisoft first announced the production of The Division in 2016, with Jake Gyllenhaal in the lead role, with Jessica Chastain joining later.

The two stars are still starring in The Division, but the original director has changed.

The project was originally directed by “Deadpool 2” director David Leitch. Due to scheduling issues, Leitch is now only a producer and Rawson Marshall Thurber has taken over as director.

After Netflix acquired the project in 2019, it did not release it in theaters as originally planned, and official production has never started.

Just Cause‎

Constantine Pictures is currently developing a live-action Just Cause‎ film based on the popular game of the same name by SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD.

Back in 2017, Jason Momoa signed on to play the role of Rico Rodriguez, before “Rampage‎” director Brad Peyton was hired to direct.

After that, the film was on hold until reports in 2019 that “John Wick” screenwriter Derek Kolstad would write the script.

There’s been no news since, and it’s not known if Momoa is still starring. But the hiring of Michael Dowse as director in 2020 shows that the Just Cause movie is still making steady progress.

“Minecraft‎”

Warner Bros. has been working on a movie version of the hugely popular sandbox game for years, but it doesn’t look like the big “Minecraft‎” movie will be out anytime soon.

“Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist‎” director Peter Sollett was hired to direct the film, and “Frozen II‎” screenwriter Allison Schroeder wrote the script.

It tells the story of a teenage girl and a group of adventurers trying to save the world from EnderDragon.

So far, no cast has been announced (though Steve Carell has been confirmed in early development), and Warner Bros. initially announced that “Minecraft‎” would hit theaters on March 4, 2022, but then postponed it indefinitely due to the pandemic, until There has been no update for almost a year now.

At least we can still play games though…
