Amazon gives ‘The Boys season 3’ the green light: Writers can also ‘do whatever they want!’

Recently, “The Boys season 3” started airing, and the show featured a variety of restricted episodes. But even so, “The Boys” producer and writer Eric Kripke told the media that the platform never refused, restricted him or let them adapt the content of the show.

Eric Kripke said, “Amazon Prime video has never said no. But having said that, I think the writers did a lot of self-policing, believe it or not.”

Amazon Prime video recently aired the first three episodes of “The Boys season 3,” which contains some “brutal historical moments.

But Eric Kripke also said the writers also struggled with the appropriateness of the lines, and there was a sense of “anxiety” in the room when it came to the tone and themes of the show to make sure things didn’t “cross the line.

Eric adds, “We really struggled with where that “line” was because we never wanted to turn brutality into gratuitous or exploitative or cheap or shocking for shock’s sake. There was a lot of anxiety, fumbling, hysteria, and guessing on our team about where the line was, because I think we realized that no one was really going to tell us no, so we had to figure it out for ourselves. (In the process) I find that we’re increasingly able to incorporate these moments of madness into the characters, and you can’t tell the character stories without them. That’s often our best option, so we’re eager to do that.”
