Amber Heard’s lawyer Elaine Bredehoft says Amber wants to appeal and says she can’t pay the damages

Heard’s attorney Elaine Bredehoft speaks to Today after Johnny Depp wins defamation lawsuit against Amber Heard. She revealed that Heard definitely wanted to appeal, saying she couldn’t pay the $10.35 million in damages awarded to Depp by the court.

Bredehoft said the verdict in the case would send a bad message to people: domestic violence victims have to be perfect victims to be trusted. won’t believe it.”

She believes Heard has been “demonised” in the US case, saying there are some things that shouldn’t go to court, but were allowed to go to court, confusing the jury, “We were forbidden to tell them about the UK case. (Depp loses defamation lawsuit against “The Sun”)”.

She also claimed that much of the evidence in the UK case was suppressed in the case, and said there were medical records etc. that could be used as evidence but were not used in court.

Bredehoft also believes that the substantial support for Depp on social media is likely to affect the jury’s judgment: “Absolutely, the jury (should not be able to watch social media, but) how can you not (know)? They every They go home late, they have family members, they all go online, and we are suspended for 10 days because of the judicial meeting of the court, they can’t not be affected. It’s bad, it’s really really biased, like in Rome Like the Colosseum. . . . I’m against cameras in court, and I’ve formally opposed it, because it’s sensitive in nature, and it makes the court a zoo.”

Heard was asked if Heard could afford to pay about $10.4 million (the jury awarded Depp $10 million in compensatory damages + $5 million in punitive damages, for a total of $15 million, but Virginia, the US state where the court is located, has punitive damages awarded to Depp. The maximum amount of compensation is limited to $350,000, that is, Depp should receive $10.35 million in compensation), Bredehoft denied: “No, it is absolutely unaffordable.”
