As the current Peter Parker, one of the characteristics of the Tom Holland version of Spider-Man is his close connection with the late Tony Stark.
The latter resembles the image of Peter Parker’s second father or mentor.
And actor Andrew Garfield played Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man in 2012 and 2014.
He bluntly said that his Spider-Man would not get along so well with the billionaire superhero.
In GQ’s new interview video, Andrew Garfield answers online fans’ questions about his past role, including when he played Spider-Man.
When asked how the MCU’s Iron Man will treat Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man, the actor firmly believes that the pair will not get along well.
“I think Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man will be very suspicious of Iron Man in the MCU.”
Andrew Garfield said, “I think he will be troubled by Iron Man’s excessive billionaire status. I think it will affect my Spider-Man in the wrong way. Maybe there may be some effects. Maybe my Peter Parker can make Tony Stark is aware of his own egoistic tendencies”
Andrew Garfield’s view of Spider-Man must be darker than Tom Holland’s, perhaps as dark as Tobey Maguire’s version.
After all, in “The Amazing Spider-Man”, Peter Parker needs to face the conspiracy involving his late parents, the death of Gwen’s father, the police chief, and the death of Gwen later played by Emma Stone.
But in any case, Andrew Garfield publicly stated that Tobey Maguire is his favorite Spider-Man.
For weeks, rumors and fan speculation about Andrew Garfield’s possible appearance in “Spider-Man: No Way Home” have been circulating.
The return of Dr. Octopus played by Alfred Molina, Electro played by Jamie Foxx, and even Green Goblin, Sandman and The Lizard that appeared in the trailer seem to confirm the speculation.
Marvel and Sony have remained silent on whether Andrew Garfield will appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
And Andrew Garfield himself repeated the rumors as “very funny” and replied to the media with “I don’t know”.
Whether this is true or just a smoke bomb released by Marvel, which is sensitive to spoilers, remains to be seen.
