‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ on ‘Empire’ magazine’s wave of stills & cover collection
Cameron thought about two years before deciding to make a sequel to Avatar
Director James Cameron also revealed some of the film behind the scenes, said he talked about the sequel with the then 20th Century Fox Studios said: he did not want to take one after another, “I want to tell a bigger story. Imagine having a series of novels like ‘The Lord of the Rings’, and it’s adapted by us. The ideal is wonderful, but it’s like I have to write such a novel first, and then adapt it.”
Cameron also said that expanding ‘Avatar’ into such a large world – which is now set to go at least as far as ‘Avatar: The Quest for Eywa’ – was a tough decision because “the first one has been so successful, do you really want to do it again? …… was very stressful. Do I want to continue making ‘Avatar’? I had a long, hard time thinking about it. …… I thought about it for two years before I finally signed on.”
Kate Winslet, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang and other people’s roles are also revealed.
