Christian Bale didn’t know what “MCU” was before he joined “Thor: Love and Thunder”

In a recent interview with GamesRadar, Christian Bale, the actor who plays Gorr the God Butcher in ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’, revealed that he didn’t know what ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ stood for until he was cast in it. What does “MCU” stand for?

Asked in an interview if Christian Bale had any concerns about playing another comic book character after his role as “Batman” in the DC movie, Bale replied, “Absolutely not, not a single concern.”

But Bale didn’t know much about the background of the new character or the scale of his Marvel Cinematic Universe at the time.

“People were surprised and said ‘Wow, Bale joined the MCU!’ and I was full of questions and said ‘What did I do? I didn’t join anything… wait, what’s the MCU? Then I learned it was ‘Marvel Cinematic Universe’ which stands for Marvel Cinematic Universe.”

Christian Bale also had concerns about whether Gorr the God Butcher’s costume would be too nude, “I was searching for photos of Gorr on Google, I was shocked to find him running around in a pair of underwear in the Marvel comics, and finally the director Taika Waititi gave me a piece of mind said that such a scene will not happen.”
