Danish director Lars von Trier, who directed ‘Dancer in the Dark’ and ‘Melancholia’, was revealed to be suffering from Parkinson’s disease, and his recent drama ‘Riget Exodus’, has been selected for the 79th Lars von Trier’s company is in the process of developing the film.
Lars von Trier’s company mentioned in a press release: “Lars is currently in good mental health and is receiving treatment to be able to complete ‘Riget Exodus’. This illness means that he will only be available for interviews on a limited scale until the premiere later this year.”

His work is personal and bold in subject matter, with the ‘Antichrist’, ‘Nymphomaniac: Volume I’ series and ‘The House That Jack Built’ all on a very large scale.
He returned to Cannes in 2018 with ‘The House That Jack Built’, after being expelled from the festival in 2011 for making jokes about Nazi sympathies at a press conference.
