‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ is about to be released, and Kang the Conqueror, played by Jonathan Majors, can be considered one of the core of the film. However, there is another villainous character in the movie, MODOK.
The director of the film allegedly found inspiration to portray the two characters from the 1979 film ‘Apocalypse Now’.
“The relationship between Kang and MODOK reminds me of the relationship between Dennis Hopper and Marlon Brando in ‘Apocalypse Now’. Of course MODOK really had no choice, but he drank Kool-Aid and became a literal killing machine by fully agreeing to Kang’s plan.”
In ‘Apocalypse Now,’ Marlon Brando plays Colonel Walter E. Kurtz, a supposedly deranged American officer who has assembled a rogue army of his own in the jungles of Cambodia. Dennis Hopper, who plays an American photojournalist, is an avid fan of Kurtz, a man he sees as something almost otherworldly. There is this similar relationship in both Kang the Conqueror and MODOK.
