According to media sources, new Warner Bros. Discovery Channel CEO David Zaslav is dissatisfied with the approval of Clint Eastwood’s new film “Cry Macho”.
Zaslav, who only recently took over as CEO of the famous studio, did one of the first things he did to “find out why the recent string of box-office failures was ‘green-lighted’ in the first place.”
Despite Clint Eastwood’s successful transition from actor to director, his last two films failed to turn a profit.
In David Zaslav’s first meeting with senior officials, executives admitted they didn’t think “Cry Macho” would be profitable.
Zaslav asked executives: “Why approve the film if there are reservations about the film’s ‘chance of success’?”
Executives responded that Clint Eastwood always delivered movies on time and on budget, which made Zaslav “very uncomfortable”, saying: “We don’t owe anyone anything, we don’t make friends in show business, we do business !”
It’s not hard to see that the new Warner Bros. Discovery Channel CEO David Zaslav might want to push the famous studio to create something new.
The media speculated that “this may mean the end of Warner’s cooperation with Clint Eastwood”.
