“Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” was lifted by media word-of-mouth, 75% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, and 65 points on MTC, lower than “Spider-Man: No Way Home”.
However, the overall evaluation of the media is relatively high, mostly praised for the personal characteristics of director Sam Raimi, as well as the film style different from the previous MCU, which brought a grand feast of horror special effects.
The following are excerpts from media reviews:
“”Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” is not a novelty in terms of story selection, but the process of exploration has become a highly entertaining enjoyment.”
“Sam Raimi knows too well how to make a movie stand out, and even make ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ look drab and boring by comparison.”
“Marvel’s craziest and most dynamic movie to date, and a successful comeback for Sam Raimi.”
“While the film may be overwhelming, Sam Raimi’s personal style, penchant for horror, and humor miraculously combine to make this film.”
“Sam Raimi is very good, but it’s a pity that even this work is about spectacle over humanity.”
“The brilliance of the film is not coordinated very evenly, some plots are amazing, and some people can only eat popcorn.”
“Sam Raimi’s approach to cooking a horror film is a bold attempt, and it does seem to make a difference so far. “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” is a way to expand the Marvel Cinematic Universe The important part is to bring something new and different. But at the same time, Marvel also needs to learn how to bridge the gap between the two.”
“I seem to have seen a creative stitch monster, interesting but also boring.”
“It turns out that the point of the multiverse, or “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” isn’t creative potential, but cameos. There may be a million universes, and they all have Surprise appearances and things to make fans scream, so people can stop by and buy some toys on the way out of the movie theater.”
“What you’re getting here is Marvel style and Mi Lei flavor. Everything that annoys you comes from the cluttered rules of the series.”
“Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen are great, sometimes messy; very Sam Raimi but at odds with the Marvel universe; lots of surprises; lots of CGI contamination.”
“The threshold for watching movies is a bit high. If you want to understand Wanda’s motives, you have to watch “WandaVision” first. If you want to know about Doctor Strange’s experience, you have to watch every movie he starred in. If you want to understand the concept of the multiverse, you have to read ‘What If…?’ and once you have all the premises, it’s going to be a feast like never before.”
In addition, the climax of Wanda’s single-handed Illuminati in the film has been exposed again. In addition to the previously known Captain Carter, Professor X, Black Bolt, Mister Fantastic, Captain Marvel, Deadpool and Ghost Rider are also exposed.
It’s just that Deadpool should not be the Fox Deadpool we were familiar with before, but the black and blue Deadpool of the X-Force in the comics, and Ghost Rider looks more like a Johnny version.
