Ghibli Park officially opened today, and Hayao Miyazaki personally hand-drew a picture to send his blessings.

Ghibli Park is located in Aichi Prefecture, Japan’s Ai-Globe Expo Memorial Park, and is divided into five main areas: ‘Hill of Youth’, ‘Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse’, ‘Mononoke Village’, ‘Valley of Witches’, and ‘Dondoko Forest’. They correspond to some of Studio Ghibli’s most popular animation themes.
The first phase will open three main areas: ‘Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse’, ‘Hill of Youth’ and ‘Dondoko Forest’, while the remaining two areas, ‘Mononoke Village’ of ‘Princess Mononoke’ and ‘Kiki’s Delivery Service’s ‘Valley of Witches’ is expected to open in 2023.
The world’s first “Ghibli Theme Park”, converted from the Aichi Expo Park built in 2005, restores “famous scenes” from Ghibli animation such as “Spirited Away”, “My Neighbor Totoro” and “The Cat Returns”. scenes” from Ghibli animation.
It is reported that the park covers an area of nearly 2 square kilometers and cost 1.875 billion RMB.
