Henry Golding: Don’t stick to racial diversity when casting 007

“007: No Time to Die” is Daniel Craig’s curtain call, and there is a lot of discussion about the next Bond candidate.

“Snake Eyes” actor Henry Golding has also been mentioned, because he is a British Malaysian, in line with the racial diversity of Hollywood casting.

Henry Golding believes that the producers should choose the actors who are most suitable for Bond’s temperament, rather than stick to the so-called racial diversity.

Regarding the casting of the next 007 role, Henry Golding said: “(Pay attention to ethnic diversity) should not be a consideration at all. Bond is a screen idol who grew up with us. He has connotations and sensitivity. Let this role be diversified. The discussion is very good, but I think the origin of this character must be treated fairly. He is so iconic and the producer should not have any pressure.”

“I think they will find the most suitable candidate, whether it is black, Asian, Latino or mixed, as long as they can show the characteristics of this character on the screen, this is what fans really want.”

After “007: No Time to Die” was released globally in October this year, the current film has a cumulative global box office of 755 million US dollars.
