British actor Ian McKellen recently revealed to ‘The Sun’ that with the passing of his peers, he knows he is nearing the end of his life, but is still waiting for a call from producers to play Gandalf in ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’.
Speaking of ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King’, he said, “That was 20 years ago, and now all I want to do is treat every job like it’s my last.”
Lindsey Weber, producer of ‘The Lord of the Rings’ episodes, also responded, saying the production team is open to anything for these characters, including the possibility of Ian returning, “Who would say no to Ian McKellen? No one on Earth would say no.”
