James Cameron Reveals Much “Avatar: The Way of Water” in an Interview with Empire Magazine

James Cameron, the director of ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’, was recently interviewed by media outlet ‘Empire’ magazine, where he revealed information about the length of the film and the criticism of the audience, and Cameron also responded to some negative reviews.

Cameron also said he would not direct ‘Avatar: The Tulkun Rider’ and ‘Avatar: The Quest for Eywa’ in the future: such projects are too mind-numbing, and he has other projects he’d rather do.

Avatar: The Way of Water’ is currently three hours long, but the film is not finished, and the length of the film may change when it is officially released.

Cameron predicted that there would be complaints that “this film is too long.”

But Cameron also said: “I don’t want to hear anyone bemoaning the length of the film, after all, they can sit down and watch the show for eight hours at a time. I know what the reviews will say: ‘This is an annoyingly long three-hour movie ……’ – come on, give me a break, I’ve watched my kids We sat down and watched five episodes of the show in a row, one hour each. There has to be this huge paradigm shift in social interaction: it’s OK to stand up to pee (while watching a movie)!”

Cameron says he’s not worried about the negative reviews, “The internet spammers will say, ‘Nobody cares about this movie, I can’t remember a single character’s name, and I can’t remember what the movie’s about.’ And then they’ll watch it again and they’ll say, ‘Ah, okay, sorry, I’ll shut up now.’ So I don’t worry about that.”

Cameron also responded to questions about the follow-up to the ‘Avatar’ series in an interview, saying that he may not direct ‘Avatar: The Tulkun Rider’ and ‘Avatar: The Quest for Eywa’ himself, but rather find a trusted The director will take over.

Cameron: Making a massive film like the ‘Avatar’ series is really draining, and he has other projects he’s interested in doing, so maybe the director position will eventually change over time.

Such is the case with ‘Alita: Battle Angel’, which was originally a long-planned project for Cameron to direct, but the director eventually switched to Robert Rodriguez, with Cameron serving as co-writer and executive producer.

But Cameron also stressed that the world of Avatar is his own creation and means a lot to him.

He also wanted to tell stories about family, sustainability, climate, the natural world, real life and cinematic life – themes that are very important to him – in a film that also gets more exciting as the story progresses.

But it is still a very big challenge to line up this series to the fourth one, now that three have been completed, he also hopes very much to complete four or five, but a lot depends on the market forces.
