At the premiere of ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’, Marvel boss Kevin Feige spoke briefly about James Gunn taking on the role of DC co-chairman and co-CEO.
Kevin Feige joked that James Gunn isn’t done at Marvel yet, as there are still ‘The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special’ and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ yet to be released:. “Well, he’s got a lot to do at Marvel between now and next May, as he well knows, but after that, I’ll be the first to see anything he does.”
According to sources, Gunn signed an exclusive four-year deal with DC, and he will executive produce DC’s film and television series and animated content in the future, while possibly directing some of the projects himself.
