Fans familiar with ‘Toy Story’ may find that the Pixar animation ‘Lightyear’, released in Northern America this June, is voiced by “Captain America” Chris Evans instead of Tim Allen, who voiced the first four films. Allen.
Recently Tim Allen was interviewed by the media and revealed his dissatisfaction with the work between his words.
After more than two weeks of release, ‘Lightyear’ has accumulated $97.18 million at the box office in Northern America and $161 million worldwide. For a $200 million production, such a performance is disappointing.
Lightyear’s IMDb rating was as low as 5.3, and it was classified as a bad movie by fans. In addition to the gay kissing scene was banned in several countries and regions, the film has generated quite a lot of criticism.
Tim Allen said he talked to Pixar about the project many years ago, exploring the origins of Buzz, “We mentioned it in a meeting, and at the time I thought it would be an interesting movie this time.”
Allen believes that ‘Lightyear’ and the first four ‘Toy Story’ are not a production team and have nothing to do with the previous films, saying, “There would be no Buzz in ‘Toy Story’ without Woody .”
Allen also felt that ‘Lightyear’ would be better as a live-action film, rather than an animated project.
Allen believes that ‘Lightyear’ is supposed to be a big adventure story, but the finished film is not an adventure story, “It’s a wonderful story, and it doesn’t seem to have any connection to the ‘Toy Story’ series. This movie has no connection to Lightyear, and I wish there was a better connection.”
‘Lightyear’ screenwriter, but also Pixar’s current creative boss Pete Docter has explained that the human character Andy in ‘Toy Story’ watched a certain movie before buying the ‘Lightyear’ toy, which movie in the end made Andy like Lightyear? They are going to make such a movie.
Although Pixar did not explicitly explain why Tim Allen did not participate in ‘Lightyear’, the media analyzed that it was related to Tim Allen’s political leanings.
Allen openly supports the Republican Party and is considered a conservative in the United States, which is a bit out of step with the overall leftist Hollywood.
