Marvel’s unprecedented success on Disney+ in 2021, with “WandaVision” nominated for an Emmy and “Loki” setting streaming records, the MCU’s popularity has grown with new weekly streamers increased as episodes are released.
2022 is expected to replicate those successes, with Oscar Isaac’s “Moon Knight” debuting on Disney+ starting this Wednesday.
Unlike previous Marvel series, “Moon Knight” is a brand new series, and this is the first time the MCU has launched a series on Disney+ featuring a brand new superhero.
Although the characters in “Moon Knight” are relatively unfamiliar to most audiences, the cast is very strong, starring Oscar Isaac in representative works such as “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”, “X-Men: Apocalypse”, ” Dune” and so on, Ethan Hawke, who plays the villain Arthur Harrow, has been nominated for four Oscars.
Marvel’s plans for “Moon Knight” are obviously not just for this season. Recently, “Moon Knight” executive producer Grant Curtis revealed in an interview with Collider that although Alice in Borderland: Season 2 has not yet been confirmed, he It’s believed that Moon Knight fits into “any corner” of the MCU moving forward.
“I don’t think there’s a corner of the MCU that Moon Knight can’t appear in. Oscar Isaac has done a great job with this character from the comics, and he will bring this character to the big screen in the future.”
Grant Curtis also stressed that he would like to have these great actors join him in Alice in Borderland: Season 2 or any other future “Moon Knight”-related projects.
“I’m going with this amazing cast, Oscar Isaac, Ethan Hawke and May El Calamawy, they’re the best actors. My job is a lot easier with these actors.”
Grant Curtis said the three lead actors in “Moon Knight” played the role of “storytellers” and also contributed a lot to the show.
While “Moon Knight” doesn’t currently have Alice in Borderland: Season 2, the possibilities for the future are endless.
Oscar Isaac has said in an interview that “Moon Knight” is a “limited series”, suggesting that the series may only have one season.
But with such a good actor as Isaac, Marvel can’t just let him play this season. He has played important roles in big-budget movies like “Star Wars” and “Dune”, and Marvel may also want to feature Moon. Knight moved to the big screen, perhaps with the long-rumored Midnight Sons.
“Moon Knight” will premiere on Disney+ on March 30.
