Jennifer Lawrence’s new drama ‘Causeway’ has opened. A few days ago, in an interview with the media, it recalled the first few less-than-ideal movies in which it appeared.
This includes ‘Passengers’ starring with Chris Pratt in 2016. The film eventually collected over $300 million at the global box office, but Jennifer Lawrence received a lot of criticism from critics and audiences.
Jennifer Lawrence said that her best friend Adele Adkins, who was a singer at the time, had advised her not to take on the film: “She thought space (subject) movies were like the new vampire (subject) movies, and I should have listened to her.’ Passengers’ did not allow me to show the quality of my original performance.”
She also recalled how out of control she felt at the time: after the ‘The Hunger Games’ series ended in 2015, she could feel the growing loss of her fandom, “I felt more like a celebrity than an actor, my creativity and imagination were cut off, scripts from filmmakers I really loved and admired didn’t even reach me, and it was as if I let myself hijacked.”
After a hiatus, Jennifer Lawrence returned to acting last year in ‘Don’t Look Up’, starring Leonardo DiCaprio.
