On a podcast this week, Quentin Tarantino was asked what he thought of ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ and said he usually doesn’t do any reviews of new films, but was willing to make an exception for this one.
“Because then I’d only be forced to say nice things, otherwise I’d be ‘bashing’ someone, and I don’t want to do that. But I so XX liked ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ that I saw it in the cinema…it, like Steven Spielberg’s ‘West Side Story’, offered a truly cinematic landscape that I thought would never see it again, bull X!”
He also expressed his great fondness for Tony Scott’s films and the respect and affection that Joseph Kosinski, the director of this film, has for him throughout every shot.
“This is the closest we’ll ever get to seeing a Tony Scott movie again, and it really is an awesome movie.”
