Recently, according to media reports, well-known director Quentin Tarantino said he would never make a superhero movie because he is not a “hired hand”.
In an interview, Quentin was allegedly asked if he would direct a Marvel or DC movie himself, and Quentin said, “That kind of movie has to be made by a working man, and I’m not a working man, and I’m not looking for a job.”
Quentin also said that the current superhero movies are as much of a straitjacket on the industry as the studio musicals of the 1960s.
As for other IPs, Quentin had also intended to direct a ‘Star Trek’ movie, but that was shelved for internal reasons at Paramount. in Hollywood’ is his ninth film.
Judging from interviews in recent times, superhero movies seem to have become the bottom of the contempt chain for a host of well-known directors.
For example, director James Cameron has also repeatedly criticized Marvel DC’s superhero movies before, saying outright that the movies are not made that way.
