In a recent podcast, ‘Pulp Fiction’ director Quentin Tarantino talks about his thoughts on today’s films, as well as those of the 1980s and ’50s.
He said, “Although the ’80s may have been the period when I saw the most movies – at least as far as going to the theater – I do feel that the ’80s were, like the ’50s, the worst in the history of Hollywood era. Only now can the current era be as bad!”
Quentin believes that the abundance of bad material gives an edge to “films that don’t fit the bill, films that are different.
In an interview with the ‘Los Angeles Times’ earlier this month, Quentin criticized Marvel movies and explained why he would never direct one. “You have to be their employee to do these things, I’m not a hired hand, I’m not looking for a job.”
However, for the current film, Quentin is not all hate, he has praised ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, said usually do not make any comments on the new film, but willing to make an exception for this film.
