“Deadpool 3” screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick assured fans that “Deadpool 3” will not be “Disneyfied” because they are writing an R-rated movie script.
Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are the writers of the first two films, and they are currently working on “Deadpool 3”. They said in an interview that Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox had no effect on the tone of the third film.
They also said that Marvel was “very supportive” of the sequel to the R-rated series. The writers explained: “We’re used to doing things our own way, so there are some differences, but I think the most important thing is that Marvel is very supportive.”
Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige previously confirmed that “Deadpool 3” will become part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will be rated R.
“They’re not going to mess with it,” Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick again asserted. “We’ve always been told this movie could be R-rated and we’re shooting to R-rating standards. We’ve always wanted it to be R-rated, so I don’t think that’s going to change.”
“Deadpool 3” will reprise Ryan Reynolds’ anti-hero mercenary persona for another bloody adventure, but this time directed by Shawn Levy, who worked with Reynolds on “Free Guy” and “The Adam Project.
He is the third director of the series, with the previous films in 2016 and 2018 directed by Tim Miller and David Lynch, respectively.
