Previously we reported that Ben Affleck would be returning as Batman in ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ as a guest star. Recently, according to media reports, Ben Affleck’s return is actually a replacement for Michael Keaton.
It is reported that ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ will feature two scenes of Batman, and the actor planned at the time was Michael Keaton.
And after the announcement of Ben Affleck’s return, the move led many to question whether Warner Bros. was cutting into Keaton’s importance in the DC Extended Universe, but it turns out that it was for another reason entirely.
The media reported that Michael Keaton had appeared in a segment of ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’, but the response was less than satisfactory.
Because the audience was very confused during the screening phase, they thought the way Keaton’s version of Batman entered this universe was slightly stiff.
There are claims that because ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ was released before ‘The Flash’, Ben Affleck was found to replace Keaton’s scenes in order to rationalize the progress of the entire DC Extended Universe.
The move also seems to have received an overwhelming response from fans, with almost all DC fans excited as well as surprised by it.
Keaton is confirmed to play Batman in next year’s ‘The Flash’, when his return will be fully explained.
The other DC superhero movie he appeared in, ‘Batgirl’, was recently cancelled by Warner Bros. Entertainment, Inc.
