Sylvester Stallone and Schwarzenegger are both representatives of Hollywood action films and have worked together many times in recent years on ‘The Expendables’ ‘Escape Plan’, etc. They have long been good friends.
And Sylvester Stallone recently admitted to ‘Forbes’ that they used to hate each other because the two had route and box office rivalry as actors in the 1980s-1990s: “We really used to hate each other a lot. That may sound a bit conceited, but I think we were leading a genre of films at the time, and there was no comer after that. And he was a very competitive person, and coincidentally so was I, so that created competition, which I think was beneficial, but off-screen we were still competing, which was very unhealthy. But then we became very good friends.”
Sylvester Stallone also said on The Jonathan Ross Show that at one point he and Schwarzenegger “couldn’t co-exist in the same galaxy and really, really hated each other”.
