Earlier this year, “The Flash” Ezra Miller was charged with burglary and theft, both of which carry a 26-year prison sentence if convicted.
Police reviewed surveillance and collected testimony before filing the two charges against Miller, accusing the actor of breaking into a home in Stamford, Vermont’s Bennington County, on May 1 and stealing several bottles of alcohol, valued at less than $900, while the home was unoccupied.
Burglary is a low value offense with a maximum sentence of one year plus a $1,000 fine; however, burglary is a felony with a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison plus a $1,000 fine.
Miller pleaded not guilty to both charges in Vermont state court, saying he was friends with the owner of the stolen home, but agreed not to contact the owner and another area resident in the neighborhood, i.e., not to return to the area where the incident occurred, and the case was continued in court on a later date.
Miller’s attorney issued a statement saying that Ezra Miller is grateful for the support of his family and friends, who are key to supporting Miller as he continues his psychotherapy.
Miller had issued a statement in August apologizing for his previous douchebag behavior, acknowledging his mental illness and starting psychiatric treatment.
Miller starring in ‘The Flash’ after several delays, finally scheduled for June 23 next year. Whether the film can be released as scheduled, but also depends on the Miller involved in legal disputes and psychotherapy progress.
