The Hulk is destined to be unable to “three generations in the same frame” like Batman or Spiderman!

Looking back at 2021, it can be said to be the most “nostalgic” year in the history of superhero movies.

Michael Keaton is determined to return to play Batman in “The Flash”, and Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield also appear in “Spider-Man: No Way Home”.

Suddenly, the concept of this parallel universe unified the world of DC and Marvel, representing the past movie superheroes, who seemed to have the opportunity to reappear on the screen.

Then a good question was born: Will Eric Bana, the protagonist of Ang Lee’s movie “Hulk”, return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe to play the angry man with father-killing complex?

Thunder first: He rejected everyone’s kindness and expectations.

Can we have a chance to see Hulk’s solo film return to the big screen?

We have grasped the handle of Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios. In 2005, Kevin Feige once said enthusiastically:

“Spidey and Hulk are the top two glory of our Marvel Mountains. It would be extremely stupid to wait another five years before bringing Hulk back to the big screen.”

This sentence is really something…

Why “re” bring Hulk back to the big screen?

So has Hulk ever been off the big screen?

This sentence shows how disappointed Marvel Pictures and Universal Pictures were with the 2003 “Hulk”, making them eager to rescue this “Marvel Mountain Glory”…

Ironically, it really took them another five years to release “The Incredible Hulk” in 2008.

That was the age when Marvel Pictures did not have the leading role in the production of films. For more than a decade, it is difficult for you to find such a terrible Marvel movie actor.

“Hulk” disappointed the film company in terms of commercial performance, with its US box office reaching 132 million U.S. dollars.

Although this looks good, the budget of “Hulk” is as high as 137 million US dollars.

Coupled with bottomless marketing costs, this movie is at a loss in the United States.

And the box office of “Hulk” fell by 70% in the second week. It had no word of mouth to support the box office next week, which proved that even American audiences did not pay for the skills of director Ang Lee.

This absolutely made Kevin Feige heartbroken…so sad that he didn’t want to pull Eric Bana into the Marvel movie universe he secretly prepared.

Kevin Feige’s ability to organize the team is top-notch, and Eric Bana is almost the only Marvel movie protagonist he hasn’t talked about: Feige will contact these movie protagonists and ask about the possibility of signing the Marvel universe long-term contract.

And Kevin Feige has never been in contact with Eric Bana, and he clearly wants to cut him out of the Marvel universe.

“…Because I didn’t even play Hulk.”

Of course, what superhero movie universe to talk about in 2003 is a joke.

At that time, superhero movies were not a profitable business for every filming, but signing a contract that lasted 5 or 6 years and filming 3 or 4 movies was like signing a long-term sales contract with an uncertain future.

But even if Kevin Feige really talks to Eric Bana, this maverick actor may not be interested in such a long and multi-works project of the Marvel Universe.

He said: “You really don’t want to make the kind of movie that you would expect to have a sequel. That’s not my style. Because these expectations for the sequel will be different in the end. For me, making a movie is A finished job.”

This means that even if Eric Bana has the super ability to predict the future, he will see the Hulk in the Marvel universe become popular later, he may not want to play the Hulk again.

Therefore, when the movie “The Incredible Hulk” was put into production in 2008, Kevin Feige and the director of Universal Pictures did not even call Bana, telling him that the movie would be starring Edward Harrison Norton.

Bana actually didn’t feel emotionally hurt-for him, this troublesome movie was over.

This actor, who is not a manga fan, has no desire to lose the opportunity to become Dr. Bruce again.

Even Bana, who knew she was going to play Bruce when casting the “Hulk”, did not happily jump up and down to agree.

He is not an actor eager to perform in a blockbuster movie-this is the same as many individual Australian actors.

Of course, “Hulk” is not an ordinary superhero movie. It pays more attention to the tearing emotion between Hulk and his father. Being exposed to gamma rays does not seem to be as painful as getting along with his father.

However, even if we exclude the Oidipous script of “Hulk”, the opportunity to collaborate with Oscar director Ang Lee, and the opportunity to play against the beautiful Jennifer Connelly or the legendary Nick Nolte, Bana alone needs a lot of green screens for the performance. The effect of the movie is very painful.

“Think about you originally filming “Black Hawk Down”. Most of the time you are filming during the day and outdoors under natural light. Suddenly, bang! You fall into a completely different world. I’m going to play a role that is not in the laboratory. It’s a scientist at home, a nerd who is completely at home. And this is another green screen movie that doesn’t require me to do much, because I didn’t even act in Hulk. So to a certain extent, “Hulk” is for me. It’s a small movie, because when I was in the show, I acted indoors and in the studio every day. There weren’t many big outdoor scenes and a lot of lines… and I didn’t like shooting indoors.”

Many Australian actors have acted in a lot of green screen superhero movies, and neither Hugh Jackman or Heath Ledger seems to have the same troubles as Bana.

Of course, Bana is really a sunny man, and he doesn’t like to leave his 23-year-old wife and Melbourne mansion.

To leave his hometown to Hollywood, and then be locked in a small room to act every day, seems to make him lose the warm golden sunlight energy.

But as Bana said above, when the Hulk in “Hulk” was not played by him, it is no wonder that Bana is full of criticisms about the filming process.

Hulk is the most special movie protagonist. Although Bruce Banner and Hulk are the same person, two actors usually play both on the screen.

For example, in the 1977 “Hulk” series, Bill Bixby played Dr. Banner and Lou Ferrigno played Hulk.

In “Hulk”, Hulk, who is more than 3 meters tall, creates Hulk’s expression according to Bana’s appearance, but the actor behind the scenes of Hulk’s motion capture is not Bana, but director Ang Lee.

Although Bana was named the actor of this movie, the climax of his performance stopped one second before “I’m so angry!”

When he transformed, he was no longer Hulk.

It may not make a difference to the audience, but for the actors performing the job, the job is full of fracture.

In “Hulk”, Hulk has a lot more roles than Banner, and Bana is responsible for the dubbing of Hulk at most.

When he roared angrily on the screen, he was not on the screen.

Bana is not so much an actor, he is more like a voice actor in this movie.

In “The Avengers”, Mark Alan Ruffalo, who plays Hulk, has a lot more work.

He plays the normal and enlarged version of Hulk at the same time. When we saw Hulk throwing Loki around, it was Ruffalo himself doing the towel throwing exercise.

Eric Bana has no intention of returning to the ranks of Marvel heroes

“Hulk” is not a Hulk movie that everyone likes, but many fans silently support this “pre-Marvel Universe” Marvel movie. At the same time, they also hope that this Hulk senior can return to the multiverse comics. Granville field.

And Bana has not only reiterated it once, he has no intention of returning to Marvel movies.

In reality, Ruffalo, Bana and Norton who play Hulk are all about one year old, so they cannot perform Hulk of different ages and feelings at the same time.

This seems to be unable to create more special entertainment effects for the audience.

Bana is unwilling to return, Norton and Marvel have had some holidays in the past, Hulk seems destined to be unable to “three generations in the same frame” like Batman or Spiderman.

This is just to add a little more sorrow to Hulk’s sad enough life in the film industry.
