According to media reports, “Thor” actor Chris Hemsworth has decided to take a break from film and television work after discovering his genetic predisposition to Alzheimer’s disease. Thor: Love and Thunder’ is the last movie he presented on the big screen so far.
Recently, Hemsworth was found to be at risk for the disease by doctors while recording the new National Geographic show ‘Limitless with Chris Hemsworth’.
Doctors detected that he has APOE4 in his genes from both parents, which likely increases the risk of the disease by 8 to 10 times. His family is also currently being treated for Alzheimer’s disease.
For this reason, Hemsworth decided to take a break from film after the recent ‘Limitless with Chris Hemsworth’ campaign to live a simple life in his native Australia, spending some time with his wife and children and adjusting to the situation.
He says it doesn’t mean he can’t act anymore or that he will definitely get Alzheimer’s disease, but it’s a strong indication.
