“Venom: Let There Be Carnage” 15 plot stingers

“Venom: Let There Be Carnage” movie details finishing: 15 plot stingers, original tribute, and related cultural references.

“Venom: Let There Be Carnage” has already been screened in North America. Today we will introduce the comic-related easter eggs, tribute and cultural references of this movie.

1.St. Estes Orphans

In the official history of comics, when Cletus Kasady was a child, he lived in the male orphanage “St. Estes Home for Boys”.

But he has been abused for a long time.

As a result, the orphanage was burned down one day. Although others suspected that Kasady set fire, there was no evidence.

Later, Kasady became a blood spider and faced Spider-Man for the first time in the ruins of the orphanage.

As for the setting of “Venom: Let There Be Carnage”, the place was renamed “St. Estes Orphans”.

You can also see the sentence “Unpopular Children’s Home” below. Such a change means that girls can be adopted.

So in the movie, you can see Frances Barrison and Kasady spend their childhood together here, in order to describe the bond between the two.

  1. Ravenscroft prison

Ravenscroft is the most famous mental hospital and superhuman prison in the Marvel universe.

In the comic, when Kasady was locked here, the doctor released Carnage because of his blood draw.

So Kasady killed many people and released himself and Frances.

In the movie, after Kasady escaped from prison, he ran to Ravenscroft, killed the guards and then released Frances.

  1. “Shriek” Frances

In past plots, we can learn that Frances’s left eye was scarred by the shooting of Detective Patrick.

In the comics, Frances’s left eye will glow whenever he wants to use his super powers, and he takes his super villain’s code name as Shriek.

In the original comic book, Frances is Homo superior.

The movie mentions that her mutation ability is getting worse, which seems to imply that the Homo superior family also exists in Sony’s Marvel movie universe.

  1. Something wicked this way comes

In the movie, when Kasady is about to transform into Carnage.

He said “Something wicked this way comes!”, which comes from Shakespeare’s Macbeth.

  1. Stan Lee

Although the Marvel boss Stan Lee has passed away, his photos still appear in the magazine of Mrs. Chen’s storefront.

And Symbiote is considering buying one.

  1. Eddie’s dress up

Eddie wears a Detroit Lions jacket and gray undershirt in this scene, which is a tribute to Eddie Murphy’s dress in “Beverly Hills Cop”.

The film was released in 1984. Coincidentally, Symbiote first appeared in the comic universe in 1984.

  1. Kill the spider

When Kasady wrote to Eddie and mentioned that every hero has an origin story, a spider happened to pass by.

And Kasady killed the spider, which can be said to be a joke that Carnage always wanted to kill Spider-Man in the original.

8.TheDailyBugle.net

In this scene, the website of Daily Bugle appeared. From the title, they are writing a special report on Kasady.

The movie universe that proved Venom also has this media.

  1. E. Larson

There is a wanted poster behind Patrick Mulligan’s desk with the name E. Larson written on it.

This is a tribute to Spider-Man and Venom’s 90s official history cartoonist Erik Larsen with a slight modification.

It is worth mentioning that this cartoonist also designed the long tongue of Venom.

  1. Little Simz

In this scene, the well-known British rapper and actor Little Simz can be found in a cameo performance.

11.Anne merges with Symbiote

In this episode, Anne merges with Symbiote into venom just like the previous episode.

It’s just that Anne in the comics committed many crimes because she became venom, which made her intolerable and killed herself.

  1. “Lethal Protector”

In this episode of the movie, Symbiote tells Eddie that their anti-crime nickname is “Lethal Protector”.

This title is the title of the mini-serial released in 1993 in Tribute to Venom.

The plot establishes the process of Venom’s transformation from a villain to an “anti-hero”, and the main body of the previous movie also refers to this story.

  1. Ending song

“Last One Standing”

This song was composed by Skylar Grey and sung by eminem, Polo G and Mozzy.

  1. “Toxin”

In the original comics, Carnage will give birth to a new symbiote, causing Patrick Mulligan to be possessed and become a symbiont character called Toxin.

In the final plot of this movie, Patrick Mulligan’s eyes can be seen gleaming with blue light, which seems to imply that he has acquired the relevant power.

  1. Venom comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe

The tail is to let the venom come to the Marvel Cinematic Universe to interact with other Spider-Man, this will not be discussed.
