Why ‘Game of Thrones’ spinoff ‘Bloodmoon’ was axed: Episodes were tough to make progress and trying

The ‘Game of Thrones’ spinoff prequel series ‘House of the Dragon’, based on George Raymond Richard Martin’s ‘Fire & Blood’, will air soon.

However, we all know that before that, there was a ‘Game of Thrones’ spin-off series ‘Bloodmoon’ that was cancelled, and the team had even completed production of the pilot episode but it was still cut.

And former WarnerMedia chairman Robert Greenblatt said, “It’s not something unwatchable or terrible or anything, it’s well made and looks unusual, but it doesn’t reach the same place as the original series, it’s not as deep and rich as the original series.”

The story of ‘Bloodmoon’ takes place in a time period not even seen on the ‘Game of Thrones’ episodes, and even in George Raymond Richard Martin’s original book there are only a few lines of text to describe these events.

“‘Bloodmoon’ was a very difficult project,” says Martin. “We were trying to deal with a more primitive period, when there were no dragons, and a lot of the experimentation revolved around weddings in the South and North, and it involved the whole history of The Others. .”

Despite the concerns, the project team remained confident in the pilot episode, and he assembled a team of writers and made changes to the episode based on their feedback, and that’s when the project was cancelled.

An insider says a brand new show that will always have George scratching his head is always unsettling.

Casey Bloys, HBO’s chief content officer, also said “it takes more ideas and more risk to have a higher return. It didn’t make any obvious mistakes, but it was still tough to progress and try the project.”
