Yesterday, director Guy Ritchie officially announced to direct the live-action version of Disney’s animated film “Hercules”. This is the 2019 live-action version of ‘Aladdin’ after Guy Ritchie again directed the Disney fairy tale film.
The animated film version of ‘Hercules’ was released in 1997 and is based on the story of Hercules, the Greek god Hercules, the son of Zeus, who was born with divine powers and is determined to stop Hades, the king of the underworld, from destroying the world.
The animated version does a Disney-style adaptation of the original story, with a more cartoonish style and a plot that leans more toward the musical comedy common to Disney animation.
Since Hercules is originally a well-known mythological figure, not the original animation, so there has always been a live-action movie with him as the main character.
The last two were both released in 2014, one was the poorly made ‘The Legend of Hercules’ and the other was the Dwayne Johnson starrer ‘Hercules’.
The latter omits the mythological background and is made into a costume action film with an average rating.
Like the previous Guy Ritchie-directed ‘Aladdin’, ‘Hercules’ also has a more complete original story and will be difficult to adapt.
But on the other hand, because Aladdin and Hercules are mainly adventure, love as a supplement, can be shot according to the pattern of action films, than Snow White, Cinderella, the Little Mermaid and other love stories, perhaps instead easier to shoot.
