Woody Allen has issued a statement denying a recent report in Spanish media ‘La Vanguardia’ that “Allen is retiring from film to focus on writing novels”.
Woody Allen never said he would retire or that he was writing his next novel,” the statement said. What he did say was that he was thinking about not making any more movies because the current model of movies going directly or soon to streaming makes him feel less fun and he loves the theater-going experience. For now, he has no plans to retire, and he is very excited to shoot his fiftieth film in Paris.”
