British actor Zara Phythian, who starred in “Doctor Strange” “Transit 17” “Tribal Get Out Alive” and her husband Victor Marke, have been convicted of child sexual abuse.
Nottingham Crown Court has announced that Marke, 59, has 18 counts and Phythian, 37, has 14 counts of child sex offences.
The pair abused a girl, aged 13-15, several times between 2005 and 2008, and the Crown Prosecution Service said the pair, who were not married at the time, had sex with her on multiple occasions.
In addition, Marke sexually abused another girl, then 15, in 2002-2003. The two girls, now adults, called police years after the incident involved, and prosecutors encouraged others with similar experiences to come forward as well.
Marke admitted in court that he had had a relationship with the first girl, insisting that she was 18 at the time and that Phythian was not involved; Phythian denied all charges in court.
After they were found guilty, prosecutors said the couple “was revealed to be lying”. Sentencing for the two will be announced on the 16th of this month.
